Standard Insurance Company S.C. and Amigos Saving and Credit Cooperative Society (SACCO) officially signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on January 9, 2026 (Tir 1, 2018 E.C.), in Addis Ababa.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Solomon Assefa, CEO of Standard Insurance, and Mr. Fitsum Abebe, CEO of Amigos Saving and Credit Cooperative Society. The agreement primarily focuses on the customers, members, and stakeholders of both institutions.
This strategic partnership will enable Amigos members to easily access insurance coverage alongside their saving and credit services. Furthermore, it will play a significant role in delivering financial and insurance services to users in a modern and efficient manner.
During the ceremony, leaders of both institutions stated that the agreement will elevate their relationship to a higher level and further strengthen the growing integration between cooperatives and insurance companies in Ethiopia.
